A Texas man was charged this week with the murder of his 106-year-old grandmother.
Amarillo police said they were called to the home where Cecilia Ferguson lived with her grandson, 35-year-old Michael Alexander Ferguson, on November 26 to investigate her death, KFDA reported.
Officers found suspicious circumstances surrounding her death, although they have not said what those circumstances were. They interviewed the grandson, who denied any involvement in the death. Police arrested him anyway, charging him with injury to the elderly.
After further investigation, he was charged on Monday with murder.
Police have not said how the elderly woman died or what tied her grandson to her death. Jail records show Ferguson is being held on bonds totalling $353,000.
